What to look for in roofers in North Shields
Choosing a roofer can feel like a gamble, especially after a storm when a lot of people are suddenly offering to help. These are the things we would check before letting anyone on your roof.
- Insurance: ask to see public liability insurance. We carry £5 million cover and are happy to show certificates.
- A written quote: a proper quote should be itemised and in writing, with scaffolding shown clearly.
- Who does the work: ask whether the people quoting are the people doing the job. Our own team does every job, never subcontracted.
- Standards and guarantees: new roofs should be installed to BS 5534 and come with a written guarantee. Ours carry a 10-year workmanship guarantee.
- Local reviews: check reviews on Google from real local customers.
- No pressure: be wary of anyone who knocks on the door, says the work is urgent and wants paying up front.
