Is chimney lead work the same as chimney repointing?
No. Chimney lead work is the flashing, soakers and back gutters that seal the join between the stack and the roof. Repointing is the mortar between the bricks. Most chimneys need both looked at.
How do I know if my chimney needs repairing?
Look for crumbling mortar, cracked flaunching, leaning pots, lifted lead or damp on the chimney breast. If you are not sure, we offer free surveys.
Will I need scaffolding?
Usually, yes. Chimney work is at height and scaffolding keeps it safe. It is always shown as a separate line in your written quote.
Can you remove a chimney I no longer use?
