What is a dry ridge and verge system?
Traditional ridge tiles and verges are bedded in mortar. Over time, frost, wind and movement crack that mortar, ridge tiles start to rock, and water gets in. On exposed coastal roofs this happens even faster.
A dry ridge system secures each ridge tile mechanically with clips, screws and unions, and a dry verge system does the same along the gable ends. It is longer-lasting, needs no repointing and improves ventilation through the roof.

Is a dry ridge better than mortar?
For most roofs, yes. It is fixed mechanically, so it does not crack or need repointing, and it ventilates the roof.
Can you fit a dry ridge to my existing roof?
